LEADS Alumni Feature: Erica Hart, MSN,RN
The Leadership in Analytics and Data Science (LEADS) program gives data analysts the opportunity to become data stewardship leaders. The program is led by the TIC Data Analytics team.
Erica is a LEADS alumnus. While in the program, Erica was a Clinical Outcomes Analyst II and Clinical Informatics Specialist at Johns Hopkins Medicine. Throughout her career, Erica has consistently demonstrated a strong passion for using data to improve patient care. This passion is evident in the dual roles she holds at Johns Hopkins in 2023, where she combined clinical expertise in outcomes analysis with informatics skills to optimize healthcare processes.
Hexcite Alumni Feature: Shreya Bhise, MD, MBA
The Hexcite program is a start-up generator for internal multi-disciplinary teams to create a digital health solution drawn from a real clinical problem brought to the team by a Johns Hopkins clinician. The program is led by the TIC in collaboration with Johns Hopkins Technology Ventures.
Shreya was the Hexcite business lead for SurgeonMR, a healthcare innovation startup developing a mixed-reality solution for surgical planning and navigation, particularly in neurosurgery and bedside procedures. In 2023, Shreya is based in Chicago, and leverages her Hexcite experience in her role as a global leader in clinical insights.
BIDS Alumni Feature: Zachary Wang
The Johns Hopkins Biomedical Informatics and Data Science (BIDS) program trains current and future leaders in healthcare technology through their curriculum. TIC staff participate in teaching, guest speaking, and mentoring students in these courses.
Zach is a Johns Hopkins School of Medicine alumnus of BIDS who graduated in 2023. BIDS prepares students to pursue careers at the intersection of precision medicine, data science, and health informatics technology. Zach’s experience at BIDS fostered a valuable understanding of how healthcare and information technology connect to ultimately improve human health.
Symposium Feature: ChatGPT used Clinically
The Precision Medicine Symposium is a yearly event that convenes thought leaders in precision medicine to share successes, discover and explore. The TIC staff organized the event and TIC Precision Medicine team members helped bring talks and exhibits to life as part of the event.
In 2023, the symposium dove into uses for AI in the clinical context. Here’s one video clip from the event.
